Vanesa Lozano, CTRS

Vanesa graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with her Bachelors of Science degree in Recreational Therapy in 2023. Vanesa was an active member, serving as President, in Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. and President for the Recreational Therapy Club at IU. During her last academic semester, Vanesa took her skills from Bloomington to Indianapolis to complete her internship working at the Indianapolis VA Domiciliary, providing group therapy sessions to Veterans in a residential/transitional facility. Vanesa has now transitioned to working on the Indiana Medicaid Waiver as a Recreational Therapist for New Leaf Recreation and is continuing to build her skills as a therapist and individual.

Vanesa is an empathetic and ambitious individual who has a passion for helping others work towards achieving their goals. She enjoys being able to watch her clients learn, grow, and reach goals through Recreational Therapy interventions. \"I love to see my clients personality shine!

Vanesa loves to learn about inclusion and cultural competence in order to provide a safe and welcome environment to those she has the opportunity to work with. She hopes to continue learning and providing opportunities to engage in various leisure activities of clients' interest.

In her free time, Vanesa enjoys Yoga/meditation practices, reading poetry, creating art, attending concerts, hiking and spending time outdoors.
