Nicole Strode, CTRS

Nicole graduated from Grand Valley State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy in April of 2022. Throughout college, Nicole worked as a recreational therapy assistant in a memory care and rehabilitation home where she helped implement individualized and group activities. Nicole then moved onto her internship at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago. During her internship, Nicole worked on the Brain Innovation floors and learned to adapt activities to meet patients' needs in order to meet their goals. After her internship, Nicole passed the NCTRC certification exam in fall of 2022. Nicole enjoys being a recreational therapist because she is able to improve an individual’s quality of life by doing the things that they love. In her free time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She also enjoys traveling and playing rugby for her local rugby club.
