Lori Schweyer, CTRS

Recreational Therapist/Co-Owner

Lori Schweyer graduated from Indiana Tech in 2006. Before graduating, Lori completed her internship on the transitional care unit of what was then St. Joe Hospital in Fort Wayne. After obtaining her CTRS credentials, Lori began working on the Indiana Medicaid waiver in 2008. After holding multiple positions in the field including Director of Recreation Therapy and Internship Supervisor, Lori went on to become one of the three founders and owners of New Leaf Recreation, LLC in 2019. Lori continues to provide recreation therapy services for individuals with intellectual disabilities to this day.

Lori is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and truly enjoys watching her clients grow. She loves that this service allows her to continue working with some of the same clients she start with since she began serving on the waiver 15+ years ago. She’s been able to see them grow and learn. Lori is also very passionate about recreation therapy in Indiana. Lori currently is serving as President-Elect on the Recreation Therapists of Indiana Association and will serve additional years as President and Past-President. She is excited to able to advocate for recreation therapists around the state of Indiana and beyond.

In her free time, Lori enjoys reading, traveling, going to sporting events and spending time with friends, her kids Ellie and Wyatt, her partner Ryan, his son Lucas and their rescue puppy, Rolo.
