Devin Riggs, MA, CTRS

Recreational Therapist

Devin graduated from the University of Toledo with her Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation in 2015. Immediately after graduation, she went on to complete her internship at The Ability Center in Toledo, OH. During that same summer, she obtained her CTRS credentials and was hired by the Ability Center upon completion of her internship. In the fall, she simultaneously went on to obtain her Masters in Recreation Administration and graduated from the University of Toledo for a second time in 2016. Over the course of these years, Devin’s skill set, experience, and passion for the field grew, and in 2017 she decided to move to Fort Wayne and begin working on the Indiana Medicaid Waiver.

Devin has always had a passion for working with individuals with disabilities and aspires to continue to make the world a more inclusive and accepting place for all. Her favorite part about being a CTRS is seeing her clients gain independence and confidence as they work on their goals through a vast variety of activities. Devin strives to be her clients’ biggest advocate, and one of the many things that drew her to the field of Therapeutic Recreation is the client-centered approach; she appreciates the uniqueness of each individual, values their input, and believes incorporating their interests and characteristics into their goals is what makes RT so unique…and FUN!

During her free time, Devin loves reading, cooking, baking, gardening, yoga, being outdoors (especially on or in the water!), and most importantly: spending time with her husband Donnie, daughter Emilia, son Everett, and boxer dog, Gus.
