Recreational Therapist
Juanakee received her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from Grand Valley State University in 2013. Juanakee continued her academic career and obtained a Master of Science from Western Illinois University with an emphasis in Park, Recreation and Tourism Administration in 2016. Juanakee has practiced Recreation Therapy in a variety of settings and populations such as Community Park and Recreation, Corrections, Behavioral Health, and Substance Abuse Treatment Programs. Juanakee has extensive experience in Program Planing and Development for specialized populations. While working in the field of corrections, Juanakee developed a Horticulture program and partnered with local Master Gardeners. The Horticulture program developed several gardens around the facility as well as a community garden where the harvested produce was donated to the local community food center for families in need of fresh produce. Juanakee has a passion for living and experiencing life which can be shown in her personal endeavors. Juanakee lived in Kaiserslautern, Germany and spent time traveling Europe. Juanakee enjoys engaging in variety of activities such as, boxing, kayaking, trying new resturants, traveling, and cooking. Juanakee also has two adorable dogs, Munchie and Bella.
